Actress Regina Chukwu Hits Back At Critics Of Baba Ijesha And Luminee's Childbirth Announcement
Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu has come to the defense of actor Baba Ijesha and celebrity stylist Luminee, following the criticisms that have trailed their childbirth announcement.
Recall that the Yoruba actor made the disclosure in a post on his Instagram page on Monday, June 15, revealing that he and celebrity stylist Luminee, have welcomed a baby boy.
Luminee had also confirmed the post on her Instagram page, expressing her unwavering love for the actor.
Following the ruckus and criticisms that have emanated from the announcement, Regina Chukwu, while weighing in, acknowledged the actor's wrongdoing, while arguing that he shouldn't be stigmatized forever.
Addressing his critics, the actress wondered the rationale behind the consistent criticisms, urging them to make it make sense.
She wrote:
"Wait, so now he should be condemned for the rest of his life? Make it make sense"
The news of the duo's child announcement has been received with mixed reactions on social media. Some netizens and celebrities have expressed bewilderment over the news.
Refreshing your memory, Baba Ijesha was arrested in April 2021 after CCTV footage surfaced showing him sexually assaulting a 14-year-old minor—the foster daughter of Nigerian comedienne Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess.
Following a highly publicised trial, a Lagos State Sexual Offences Court convicted him in July 2022 of child molestation and indecent assault, sentencing him to a five-year prison term to run concurrently.
He was released from prison in November 2025 after fully serving his sentence.
