Shallipopi Opens Up On Quitting Rap For Amapiano Over Financial Benefit
Nigerian rapper and singer Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has explained the reason behind his transitioning from a rap artiste into a singer.
Speaking in a recent episode of the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast, the 'Cast' crooner revealed that he first had a liking for rap, however, he found it financially unsustainable, hence the reason for his move into singing.
He also added that he was forced to do Amapiano due to the financial indications and lack of acceptance from Nigerians, stating that he was left with no choice.
He said:
"I have been rapping for a while. I am a trap star. They made me do Amapiano. It is Amapiano that bring food to the table, so we will do it. I will drag it with them."
