"Music Is A Tool To Keep People Sane" – Bella Shmurda Speaks On Qualities Of Music
Nigerian singer Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, professionally known as Bella Shmurda, has highlighted the qualities of music, stating that it has several functions beyond entertainment.
The street-pop singer, while speaking in the For Bunmi documentary stated that music can function during war.
He also noted that it is a tool of progress, an instrument of goodwill; a tool to keep people sane, put them in the right state of mind, and make them forget about their problems.
Bella Shmurda further pointed out the reality of his style of music since becoming a father, stressing that he is now conscious about his lyrics, in order to serve as a good role model for his child.
“Music is warfare. Music is a tool for the society. Music is a tool of progress. Music is an instrument of goodwill. Music is a tool to keep people sane, to put them in the right state of mind, to make them dance away their sorrow, and to make them feel alive and self-conscious."
