Rapper Dremo Explains Decision To Exit DMW, Cites Prioritization Of Davido As Leading Factor
Nigerian rapper Aboriomoh Femi Raymond, professionally known as Dremo, has opened up on the factor that influenced his decision to exit Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) record label.
The ‘On God’ crooner, while speaking on a recent episode of the Echo Room podcast, explained that the record label prioritized Davido over the other signed artistes.
According to him, the excessive focus on Davido by the record label prevented other signed artistes from making progress, adding that there were rarely collaborative projects in DMW.
Dremo further mentioned that throughout his time in the label, he was unable to gain much; hence his decision to quit and become an independent artiste.
He said:
“I didn’t collaborate with Idowest who was my label mate and fellow rapper because at that time we were all striving to stay afloat in the music industry. Even DMW as a whole didn’t collaborated much, we never had a record label album. The management focused only on Davido.” “The label [DMW] didn’t give me money. It was like a platform. I didn’t get what I wanted from the label,”
