Omah Lay Bemoans Afrobeats International Rejection
Nigerian singer Omah Stanley Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has bemoaned the gradual rejection of Afrobeats genre internationally.
The 'Understand' crooner made the disclosure, while speaking at his Lagos Warehouse Session on Thursday night, Omah Lay stated that the wide acceptance that the Afrobeats genre was receiving internationally, is drastically declining.
According to him, Nigerian artistes are performing, however, the change in global acceptance has reduced. He mentioned that he is currently studying the genre, and looking for ways to return it back to its global acceptance.
"Overseas, Afrobeats is declining. It is a fact. Our artistes are doing really great but the Afrobeats that you guys used to know in 2020-2024, are not the Afrobeats you know now anymore."
