Stan Alieke Quizzes Public On Free Will And Determinism
Popular Nigerian lawyer, Stan Alieke, has questioned the public on their opinion of free will and determinism.
The Abuja-based lawyer, via his Instagram story, questioned the public on their belief of predestination of one's life, which means whatever has been planned about one's life would eventually come to pass, or if they are of the belief that we will be the ones to write our fate.
He explained that the latter means that that there is no fate or predestination, and everyone is responsible for their actions.
Stan Alieke urged the public to let him know their thoughts on the different beliefs.
He wrote:
"What's your opinion on free will and determinism? Do you believe that everything that will happen to us has already been preplanned & destined by fate & we have no power over it; this is to say that if your destiny or fate is to be rich you will definitely be rich no matter what but if your destiny/fate is that you will die poor, you will definitely be poor no matter how hard you work. Or that we are the ones who will write and determine our fate- this school of thought postulates that there's no fate or destiny anywhere, you bear the consequences of the life you live.
I'd love to hear your opinion or what you think. Do you believe in fate or do you believe that we are the ones who will determine/write our destinies?"
