"Almost Every Afrobeats Song Today Has Port Harcourt's Sound" - Duncan Mighty Claims
Nigerian singer, Duncan Mighty, has emphasized the contributions of Port Harcourt artistes to the Afrobeats genre.
The singer, while speaking in a recent interview with Hip TV, claimed that most Afrobeats songs of today, have been greatly influenced by the slangs of Port Harcourt.
He further stated that himself, Burna Boy,Timaya, and Omah Lay, contributed to Afrobeats sound.
He said:
"In almost every Afrobeats song today you can hear the Port Harcourt influence, especially the Ikwerri slangs.
“You can’t hear any Afrobeats song today and you will not hear a spice of Port Harcourt. Almost every Afrobeats song today has the flavour of Port Harcourt sound.
I, Burna Boy, Timaya, Omah Lay and Port Harcourt sound built the foundation of today’s Afrobeats."
