"Davido Entered, And The Industry Became Toxic" - Samklef Alleges
Nigerian singer and music producer, Samuel Oguachuba, professionally known as Samklef, has accused Afrobeats star Davido, of spearheading the toxic and dirty nature of the Nigerian music industry.
Samklef's claim was a direct reaction to the observation and complaint made by his colleague Pheelz, on the popular microblogging platform, X formerly known as Twitter. Pheelz had noted that music was originally meant to be enjoyed, and not to be compared in any way. He, however, stressed that comparison of songs is now the order of the day, and is doing more harm to the music culture.
Quoting Pheelz's post on X, Samklef argued that music was fun when he began, stating that with the inclusion of Wizkid and Olamide also, the Nigerian music scene was still sane and devoid of comparison.
He, however, alleged that since Davido entered into the music industry, toxicity began. He accused the 30BG boss of cultism, threats, fake streams, and dirty moves, stressing that music was never meant to be filled with such things.
He wrote:
"Music was fun when we started.
When Wizkid came, there was no comparison—everything was pure love.
Olamide came too, same thing.
No pressure, no hatred, just music.
Then one Scorpio boy who moves like diddy..Davido entered, and since then the industry turned toxic.
Cultist mindset, threats, fake streams, dirty moves everywhere.
Music no be football.
It was never a fight."
