It's Unfair That Trolls Can “Freely Drop Negativity On Someone's Page, But If We Respond, We Risk Being Banned" - Queen Mercy Atang Addresses Instagram

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Former reality star, Queen Mercy Atang, has addressed a message to the popular social media app, Instagram.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate, took to her Instagram page to share a screenshot of her chat with a troll, who slammed her for twerking on social media.

Expressing her displeasure, Queen Mercy Atang stated that it is unfair that trolls can freely drop negativity on someone's page, but providing a response to the troll could get one banned.

She explained that the lady who criticized her twerking video was no saint either when she went through her social media page, while stressing that the act of judging others while doing worse is truly wild.

Sounding a note of warning, she stated that she could have responded properly, but she is currently shadowbanned, and won't respond to the troll directly. She added that the troll should take care of herself.

She wrote:
"Dear IG @instagram
It honestly feels unfair that trolls can freely come to someone’s page and drop negativity, but if we respond, we risk being banned.

A lady had something to say about me twerking, so I checked out her page, and let’s say… the irony was loud.

The way some of you judge others yet do worse yourselves is truly wild.

I wish I could respond properly, young lady, but my account is currently shadowbanned, and I’ve already been warned by IG. So no, I won’t reply directly.

But here’s what I will say: go take care of yourself."
