"I Don't Pay For Awards" - Stan Alieke Sends Message To Abuja NGOs Offering Awards In Exchange For Monetary Reward
Popular Nigerian lawyer, Stan Alieke, has sent a message to a Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) based in Abuja, to desist from offering awards in exchange for monetary reward.
According to him, 'giving awards is a huge source of income in Abuja for NGOs.' He stressed that the NGOs who have sent him a letter offering him an award have not received a response from his office because he does not pay for awards.
He emphasized that he is strongly of the belief that he does not deserve an award that he will have to pay for or purchase with money.
Advising the NGOs, he urged them to send him letters requesting for financial support, and he would gladly oblige, instead of coming to him in the guise of presentation of award.
Taking to his Instagram story, he wrote:
"I learnt that giving "awards" is a huge source of income in Abuja for NGOs. If you are one of the numerous individuals/NGOs that have sent me a letter offering me an award & you are wondering why you haven't gotten a response from my office; I don't pay for awards. I believe I don't deserve an award that I will have to pay for or purchase with money. If your NGO needs financial support, you can send me a direct letter to that effect & I will show my support to the best of my ability; i support a lot of other NGOs but not coming to me in the guise of presentation of award."
