‎Popular Nigerian social media commentator and celebrity tormentor, Daniel Regha, has given his take on the recently concluded 2025 Headies Award.

‎Recall that the Nigerian Voice reported that the award ceremony which was the 17th, edition was held on Sunday at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos, with many celebrities in attendance.

‎Taking to his X handle, Daniel Regha noted that the only good thing about the award ceremony was the presence of Afrobeats star, Davido, which gave it some relevance. He, however slammed other A-list artistes for snubbing the ceremony, while pointing out how they instead rate international awards.

‎Additionally, he described many of the wins at the ceremony as being undeserving and mainly influenced by favouritism.

‎He further described the award as an absolute joke.

‎Daniel Regha wrote:
‎"The only good thing about the present 17th Headies awards is Davido gracing the event to give it some relevance; An act other big a-list artistes ought to do as they rate Int'l awards. As for the wins, many were undeserved and seem to have been won by plain favoritism. With each passing year, the most basic songs and videos get nods and wins. Headies need to take a break or be serious. The award is an absolute j@ke. No offense."
