Popular Nigerian critic and celebrity tormentor, Daniel Regha, has given his review on the latest album by Afrobeats singer Ruger.
Recall that Ruger released his much anticipated album 'BlownBoy Ru' on Friday March 28th.
Taking to his X handle, Daniel Regha described Ruger as sounding repetitive in most of his songs. He labelled the singer's latest album as basic, nothing new or surprisingly refreshing.
Furthermore, he admitted that the singer has a soothing vocals, however, most of the songs of the album seems like old songs re-written.
Additionally, he noted that the album lacks lyrical quality.
Regha wrote:

Asides his soothing vocals, most songs off the album seems like old songs re-written. Does he have talent, yes, however, this album feels lazy (lyrically speaking). In one of the songs, he says "I will shoot you before you kill me", which isn't a great statement as it nods to domestic violence. Only two songs standout in the album, which are "Wish You Well featuring Valiant" and "Rub Minds". "REIntroduction" should've been made into a song with a good rapper featuring on it. Great beats tho. 2.5/10. No offense."
