Asake Should Have Renewed His Contract With YBNL - Daniel Regha

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Popular social media critic and celebrity tormentor, Daniel Regha, has given his opinion on singer Asake exiting YBNL record label.

According to reports making the rounds, Asake has exited his record label, YBNL, after 2 years. The singer was reportedly offered a new contract upon the expiration of his contract by his record label boss, Olamide, but he declined the offer.

Taking to his X handle, Daniel Regha stated that Asake should have renewed his contract with YBN, even if it was just for one more time before he decides to leave. He noted how Asake's departure is one of the reasons many record labels subject artistes to 'slave deals' in order not to be at a loss when the artiste leaves.

Daniel Regha wrote on X:
"Asake should've renewed his contract with YBNL at least one more time before he left; Negotiate a better deal if that's the case, but parting ways with Olamide just after 2 yrs reeks of ungratefulness. Again, this is one of the reasons why many record labels bring "slave deals" for aspiring musicians cos they are always in a hurry to leave & be independent after gaining fame. Another mistake was unfollowing Olamide, regardless their rumored fallout, he should given Olamide that respect even if it's not reciprocated. Everything shouldn't be about money or business."
