Just In: The Nigerian Police Have Refused To Release Speed Darlington - Deji Adeyanju
Popular human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has revealed that his client, Speed Darlington is still in the custody of the police, despite the order of the court to release him on bail.
The Nigerian Voice recalls that Deji Adeyanju announced via his Facebook page some weeks ago that "Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a AKPI has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria."
However, on the 23rd of December, Speed Darlington's counsel, Stanley Alieke announced via his Instagram story that his client has been granted bail by the court.
In a new development today, Deji Adeyanju, via his X handle, revealed documents showing that despite the order of the Federal High court to release Speed Darlington, the Nigeria police force still have the singer in their custody.
Deji Adeyanju wrote on X:
"The Nigerian Police have refused to release Speed Darlington a.k.a AKPI despite the explicit order of the Federal High Court to do so. This is the highest form of disrespect to the judiciary."
