"There Is A Gang Up Against Ibrahim Chatta" - Portable Reacts To Actor's Award Loss
Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has described the loss of popular Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta at the AMVCA as being due to a gang up in the entertainment industry.
Recall that the 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA), which took place on Saturday , May 10th at the Balmoral Event Center, Victoria Island.
Veteran actor, Ibrahim Chatta was nominated in the category of Best Lead Actor for his role in the popular Nigerian Netflix movie 'House of Ga'a', however, he lost the award to his colleague, Femi Adebayo.
Reacting to Ibrahim Chatta's loss, Portable in a video message on his Instagram page accused the entertainment industry of ganging up against the actor.
He stressed that he was also snubbed at the Headies Awards, but he is less concerned about awards, because he has money, but he wouldn't pay to be given an award.
Portable said:
"My fans, there is a gang up in the Nigerian entertainment industry, even in Nollywood. They didn’t give Ibrahim Chatta an award at the 11th AMVCA despite his impeccable acting. That was how I was also snubbed by The Headies Awards.
“We don’t need awards. We need food, we need money. We have money but we can’t use money to buy awards like some persons.
Ibrahim Chatta, if they don’t award you, God will reward you. My boss, you are my mentor. I love you.”
