The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has arranged for the arrest of Oluseun Anikulapo Kuti popularly known Seun Kuti, the youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

The report regarding the arrangement for the arrest of Seun Kuti was disclosed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer, on May 13th, 2023.

Seun Kuti has committed a foul offence to an authority according to the SP. He was captured in a video assaulting a police officer in uniform on the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, Nigeria.

The video that is already going viral on the social media caught the talented Afrobeat to be Recalcitrant to the a police officer. He spoke disrespectfully to the officer.

His voice read partly;
“You dey craze! You dey mad!” he could be heard saying as he slapped the policeman.

The video has generated different reactions. It is unclear what led to the action of the singer’s son.

“The IGP has equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly.”

“IGP Usman Alkali Baba assures Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such hideous crimes will be surely brought to book,” Adejobi said in a statement.
