Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has expressed his strong belief in the Afrobeats genre, and its future.
The legendary singer while speaking in a recent interview with Yaw on Wazobia FM Lagos, asserted that the Afrobeats genre can never go down, considering the promising talents that are rising in the Nigerian music industry.
He further expressed his admiration for fast-rising singer, Fola, over his creativity, praising the flow and styles of the present crop of singers.
“Afrobeats can never die. If you listen to some of the young Afrobeats artists now, you will agree with me that the genre is in safe hands.
“Recently, one of the young artists, Fola, remade my song ‘If Love Is A Crime.’ I really loved it. Soft, smooth vocals. It is amazing. The present crops of artists have special flows. I love their styles.”
