Reno Omokri Eulogizes The Northerners' Culture To Back The Ekweremedu's Fate

By Agboola Ibrahim

Controversial Political activist, Reno Omokri has spoken high of the the Northern People's culture in order to draw light into Ekweremedu's present predicament.

.
Reno Omori spoke about a Northern person would have allowed religion and culture prevail rather than external party over the evils he received from his brother.

Reno Omokri's post is a reaction to Ike Ekweremedu and his wife's jail sentence. They are serving a 10 year jail term for their attempt to traffic one of their housemaids. This action of trafficking was intended to sell the young man's kidney to revive their sick daughter's who is battling kidney failure.

Recall that Ekweremedu was the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate for three consecutive senate. He is a Nigerian politician and a lawyer who hails from Enugu State and served in the Senate of Nigeria for Enugu West from 3 June 2003 to 5 May 2023.

Following their jail sentence, Reno Omokri has revealed what he admires about the Northern People's culture.

He said that a Northern person would not have resorted to court but his religion, Islam, to settle the matter involving him and his brother.

Reno Omokri emphasized on how Ekweremadu’s case would’ve been settled ‘quietly’ in Northern Nigeria.

While he said this, he disclosed that he has never been in support of the Ekweremedu's action, but he is having empaty for them.

his post read:
“If a Northern Nigerian Muslim had been brought to London by a desperate Northern Nigerian Muslim seeking to save his daughter’s life, and the intended donor changed his mind, he would most likely have headed over to the nearest mosque, rather than the nearest police station.

Even in disagreement, my experience in Northern Nigeria taught me that they would rather use Islam for resolution than use other means. And that is one thing I will forever admire about Northern Nigerian Muslims. The fact that they tend to cover their own in good and bad times.

No matter what the world says about their own, they will cuddle him or her publicly, and any rebuke would be done in private. That lifestyle builds unity, and unity brings power!

I do not support what Ike Ekweremadu and his wife did. But I empathise with them. May God never permit me to be in the same position. I do not know what I would do in such circumstances. May the Almighty provide relief to the Ekweremadus. In Yeshua’s Name.”
