The comedy-drama film, The Kujus Again, has achieved a remarkable feat since its debut in cinemas on April 21, 2023, by grossing over ₦17 million, making it the highest-grossing opening weekend for a Nollywood movie this year.

The movie has claimed the number one spot at the domestic box office, surpassing other Nollywood movies such as Domitilla: The Reboot, which earned ₦34 million and Maniac, which earned ₦1.5 million, respectively.

The movie, which is a sequel to the 2020 movie, Introducing The Kujus, centers around the relatable story of a young woman's love for her family and how it reunites them. The heartwarming and hilarious drama of the Kuju family continues in the new film, which includes an engagement and a wedding.

The Kujus Again boasts of new additions to its cast, including Mavin Records CEO Don Jazzy, DJ Big N, Ben Lugo, Sophia Augustine, and Lilo Aderogba. The director, Stephen, shared with Shockng that Don Jazzy was an integral part of the story and was involved in the entire casting process.

Returning cast members include Bisola Aiyeola, Sophie Alakija, Kunle Remi, MC Lively, Bimbo Ademoye, Chris Iheuwa, and Timini Egbuson. With the elections over and done with, which had a negative impact on previous movie titles, The Kujus Again is expected to draw in more ticket sales.
