Asake Leaving YBNL Is Just A Business Move - Influencer Alabi Lawrence
Popular social media influencer, Alabi Lawrence, has given his view on popular singer, Asake exiting his record label, YBNL.
Recall that the reports of the Asake's exit from YBNL have been trending for some time now, with many alleging that the singer refused to sign a new contract with his record label upon the expiration of his initial contract.
However, Asake has indirectly confirmed his exit by removing every information about YBNL from his Instagram page, and changing his bio to ‘creative director
Taking to his X handle, Alabi Lawrence noted that Asake's exit from YBNL is purely a business move. According to him, it is like a footballer changing clubs or agents. He noted that Asake's contract expired and he chose not to renew which is a decision that he considered best for his career at this point.
He wrote on X:
"Asake leaving YBNL is just a business move, like a footballer changing clubs or agents. His contract expired, and he chose not to renew.. a decision he feels is best for his career at this point. Remember, music, like football, is business. Both Asake and YBNL have benefited immensely, and just as WizKid thrived after leaving Banky W's EME, Asake might be setting the stage for his next big leap. Nobody knows the BTS talks, but if it feels right for him to move on, then that's the nature of the game.
I'm sure Asake will always hold Olamide to the highest regard for being the catalyst that changed his life. Olamide is a legend and rare gem, he'll always find another diamond in the rough, so YBNL will also be fine."
