There are several Nigeria movie actors who have served jail term for one crime or the other. Few of them include actor Olarenwaju James , known as Baba Ijesha, Ibinabo, Yetunde Wunmi and many others.

Olarenwaju James: He is popularly known as Baba Ijesha. He was on July 14, 2022, sentenced to 16 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting 14-year-old daughter of another actress and comedienne whose name is Princess.

Yetunde Wunmi:
The Yoruba actress Taiwo Akinwande, popularly known as Yetunde Wunmi, was arrested in 2006 by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for cocaine trafficking. The actress was on her way to London when she was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos. She was sentenced to three years imprisonment for which she paid a fine of N1million.

Ibinabo Fiberesimi:
The actress in 2009 received a five-year prison term for manslaughter and dangerous driving. She was detained on February 26, 2006, after her vehicle collied with Suraj Giwa’s vehicle on the Lekki-Epe axis. The victim died instantly.
