Prominent actress, Eucharia Anunobi-Ekwu, yesterday obtained the leave of an Ikeja High Court in Lagos to institute a divorce suit against her husband.

The screen star had filed a suit against her husband in 2007 seeking the dissolution of their four-year-old marriage.

She, however, applied for an extension of time to enable her to complete the court processes.

Counsel to Eucharia, Mr. Michael Nwanna, had told the court that the extension would enable him to serve the respondent the court processes.

He said that efforts to serve the notice on the respondent were unsuccessful and applied for a substituted service.

Justice Elfreda William-Dawodu granted the application for extension of time, but rejected the application for a substituted service.

The judge directed that the application should be made at the next adjournment of the case today.
