“It'll expose our children to betting,” says wife

In a move to protect her children from patronizing the content of a movie, Amagwu Emmauela recently received the beaten of her life after she destroyed the Nigerian movie, My Bet that was bought by her husband, Amagwu Iheanyi.

As informed, the husband who hails from Mgbidi in Imo state is currently making a move to annul their marriage following the wife's action.

The movie which puts on display the rise of the now modernized betting system in Nigeria, lotto otherwise known as Baba Ijebu got destroyed by Emmanuella who used it as an easy means of putting it away from the reach of her children.

Stressing that it will drive them into betting, she pointed out that after watching it, she had no other option than to dispose it. As informed, the husband who bought it with an intension of getting entertained got the brief of his wife's action later on launched an attack on her, after which he asked for the annulment of their marriage.

Speaking, the associate producer of My Bet and head-honcho of Kingces Film Productions, Mr. Chima Ewurum condemned the woman's action while pleading with the husband for clemency. “I really do not understand people's perception to Nollywood. All over the world, movies are produced to teach lessons, as there will always be the bad and good sides of it.

“In the case of our movie, My Bet, we portrayed the bad side and as well gave regrettable scenes for such. It is in line with our position to put things in place through the stories we put up to the screen. My Bet is a hilarious movie; you can google to watch it online.

“It's a comical one, and it has lessons to teach. So, I will urge the man to apply maturity by staying cool with the wife. I will further say that this is one of those unavoidable issues we face, but then, we still need to move on,” he said.

However, the movie as directed by Theodore Anyanji is marketed by Divine Touch Productions. It stars Nollywood actors like Chiwetalu Agu, Harry B, Dike Osinachi (Egbeigwe Apama), Jazzy Okey, Chinyere Nwabueze, Mc Yellow Mouth among others.
