Obasanjo Loses Sister
Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has lost his younger sister, Madam Adunni Oluniola Eweje-Obasanjo, at the age of 76.
Obasanjo personally broke the news when he hosted women leaders from the South-west at his residence in Abeokuta.
He said the scheduled visit would not have been, “if only I realised that my sister would be called. But, the appointment has been scheduled.”
The women leaders, drawn from community, religious and market sections in the five south west states including Lagos, were led by the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Mrs. Alaba Lawson.
The delegation later prayed for the repose of the dead and prayed to God for the Obasanjo family to have the fortitude to bear the loss.
Also, church members of the Christ Chapel of the Glorious King, where Obasanjo is a member, visited to commiserate with the Obasanjos.
Led by the Rev. Oyejide and Deacon Durodola, the congregation also prayed for the family on the loss of Obasanjo's sister.
The late Madam Eweje-Obasanjo, commonly refer to as Mama Eweje, died last Tuesday at an Ota private hospital after a brief illness.
One of her daughters, Titi, who spoke with journalists, said burial arrangements would be announced later.
