I Was Banned From Nollywood With Genevieve, Others—Joke Silva
Some years ago, some 'cabals' in the Nigerian film industry prevented some practitioners from getting jobs because of what they termed as 'high headedness'.
The likes of Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Nouah and some other top actors in Nollywood were not given jobs to do and this brought about the emergence of new set of faces in the industry.
But not many knew that veteran actress, Joke Silva, also received the big stick because she was one of the actors banned that time.

Speaking with Newswatch Times in an interview on why she turns down scripts from some producers, the wife of another veteran actor, Olu Jacobs said, “There are several reasons like not being available; not wanting to work on a particular script and at other times because of being blacklisted. I am one of the blacklisted ones, but they didn't announce it. You heard it directly from me.”
Joke Silva also said she is a very private person.
