Audio-Visual Rights Society of Nigeria (AVRS) Joins Fight Against Piracy
The fight against piracy just got strengthened as the Audio-Visual Rights Society (AVRS) held its meeting after the recent Lagos sieze-march that happened and led by Yemi Shodimu and other Nollywood stakeholders.
The society held its stakeholders sensitization meeting in Asaba and Delta in the roles and responsibility in the protection of intellectual works of film makers in the country.
The speakers at the event enjoined the different practitioners in the industry to come together and fight the menace of piracy and ensure that royalties from audio-visuals are paid to the artistes.
Notable Nollywood personalities who graced the occasion include, Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Richard Mofe Damijo, Patrick Doyle, Onitsha based film producer and marketer, Chief Osita Okeke (Ossy Afasson).
Others includes Kenneth Izuogu, Chief Fabian Dim, Iyke Odife, Jerry Amillio, George Edmond, Ugezu J. Ugezu, Henry Legema, Ifeanyi Azodo, Leo Ewuzie, Akachukwu Ibe, Emeka Iwemba and Ogonna Mbonu. Eunice Omoregie, Amen Imasuen and Democracy Omoregie.
