A man, Anthony Okeke, has been sentenced to five months imprisonment with an option of fine for breach of trust and cheating. The First Information Report (FIR) by the police stated that one Dominic Joseph went to the Nyanya Police Station and reported that sometime in March, he bought a Toyota Carina car with registration number AU 199 YAB and engine number 351445176.

He decided to replace the engine with a new one and Anthony sold a new engine to him but decided to keep the old one without Dominic's permission. The value of the engine was N40,000.

He was arraigned before the Upper Area Court on the above charges contrary to sections 312 and 322 of the penal code where he pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

Hon Hassan Ishaq then summarily tried the accused based on section 157 of the Penal Code. Anthony was subsequently sentenced to five months imprisonment on both charges with the option of fine of N13,000. The court also asked him to pay the amount of N40,000 to Dominic.
