I Did Not Sleep With Anybody To Win - Fiona Afoma, Ex-Miss Nigeria
One of Nigeria former beauty queens, Afoma Fiona Amuzie, is one beauty queen who believes that women do not have to sleep their way before they can get places of positions in Nigeria. she shared her experience with National Mirror
When asked if she had slept with any of the organisers, the ex-queen said she did not do anything of such before she became the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 2010. She revealed that the stigma was more of a punishment and as such the statement was not true in her case.
She said, "I never did that. I heard such stories and it is frightening. I think this is not just about the beauty pageant world but it has a lot to do with the stigma that a woman has to use to use her body to get what she wants. Many people think that before a woman gets to a certain position; she has to sleep her way through it. This is not true."
She revealed that it was more of a blessing to her to win the crown.
"But there are some things which cannot be explained because it was a blessing for me. When I entered the competition, I did not know anybody and I did not have to sleep with anybody. It was an absolutely free and fair competition. I would say at this point that you should not believe the lies people tell," she added
