Mr. Nigeria 2014, Emmanuel Ikubese, Korede Bello, Di'Ja Team Up Against Domestic Violence
The women in the society have been given another platform to get their voices heard and the opportunity to claim their rights with the latest effort of the Mr. Nigeria 2014, Emmanuel Ikubese and Nollywood's finests.
He has launched an awareness on the need to stop domestic violence and teamed up with some of Nollywood celebrities and musicians. The A-List includes the likes of Bryan Okwara, OC Ukeje, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Kiki Omeli, Shaydee, Korede Bello, Di'Ja, Adesua Etomi, Chopstix, Lilian Afegbai, Chinyere Adohu, Marie Miller.
He revealed that the reason for the project is borne out of the need for men to stop the vice of domestic abuse.
He said, "I believe no man will ever hit his Mother because of Respect. If such Respect can be applied in Relationships/Marriages this will significantly reduce the rate of Domestic violence in our society.
"My vision is to see Men make this pledge to Respect A Woman and apply them in their Relationships. For Women in such violent Relationships its high time they Run Away from this deadly act."
Emmanuel has titled the campaign 'R.A.W' meaning Respect A Woman. The various pictures released depict various domestic violence modeled by the celebrities and holding the same inscriptions.
