I’m Happy Now As A Solo Artiste—Mike Abdul Of Midnight Crew
Though the Midnight Crew, a gospel group in Nigeria has denied breaking up, but some fans of the award-winning group believe members of Midnight Crew are no more together as claimed.
In an exclusive interview with Nollywoodgists.com few years ago, the four singers that make up the Midnight Crew debunked news that they were no longer together as one, but claimed that each member of the group decided to go solo while they still work together as Midnight crew.
One of the popular members of the group, Mike Abdul, is currently enjoying his solo career and has not hidden that. Some of his fans like him for the energy he puts in songs, both his and other artistes' songs he is featured in.
In a recent television interview, Mike Abdul shared the challenges of his solo career and the inspiration to sing gospel music despite the pulls of making it on a different level.
“It's a new place for me. But it's been worth it. It's been beautiful. The challenge has been good. I think I have lived up to the challenge,” he said.
Speaking on the pressure of leaving a successful group to pursue a solo career, Mike said, “The pressure? They don't need to compare me. I compare myself like 'Does this fit in? From where I am coming from, does it meet up? Is this classic enough to represent?
“One thing I tell myself is 'Michael, who are you? I tell myself to be that competent person!”
