Late Goldie Harvey's Memories Forgotten Two Years After Her Demise?
Today, February 14, 2015, marks exactly two years since the demise of Nigerian female singer, Goldie Susan Adebimpe Harvey, who died at Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos, shortly after her return from California where she attended the Grammy Awards with her record label, Kennis Music boss, Kenny Ogungbe.
From observations made by Nollywoodgists.com, no event has been planned in her honour, neither did most of her colleagues in the Nigeria music circle pen down messages of her remembrance on their social media handles.
With this, one begins to wonder whether the controversy that trailed the late singer, immediately after her death, could be the cause of this neglect or perhaps, the stars are carried away with the euphoria of Valentine's day?
As a musician, Goldie had started her career in London, with a pop rock group. Her impact in BBA House was remarkable, in view of her betrayal by Kenyan Housemate, Prezzo, with whom she had an intimate moment.
It was until her death, that her little secret of being married to a British man by the name Andrew Harvey surfaced and stirred lots of controversies.
In her short but eventful life, Goldie was an ambassador of Project Alert, a world renowned non-profit making organisation. She was the president of the organisation aimed at advocating zero tolerance for all forms of violence against women and young girls. She won more than 10 awards, including Exquisite Lady of the year (ELOY), Best Female Artiste Award and City People Best Female Artiste of the year.
Painfully, she lost the battle of life after suffering deep vein thrombosis, a blood clot resulting from being seated in one place during long hours flight from the US.
