CAF Awards: Vincent Enyeama Reacts To His Loss To Yaya Toure
Manchester City star Yaya Toure has been named the African Footballer of the Year for the fourth successive time during the GLO CAF awards held in Lagos, Nigeria, last night. His records are almost equalling to that of Samuel Eto'o.
Although, the Cameroon talismanic forward Samuel Eto'o, who hung up his international boots last year, did also win the accolade four times, but not successively.
Yaya Toure, the Ivory Coast midfielder beat off competition from Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nigeria keeper Vincent Enyeama to the annual accolade – voted by coaches and captains of the continent's national teams.
While reacting to his lost, Vincent took to his Instagram page almost immediately and wrote
“A very big thank you to my #SUPER GOD for bringing me this far, without HIM, I wouldn't have been here. Thank you to my sweet wife and my DIAMOND??. Thanks to all my family members, friends and love ones. big thanks to my coaches and teammates, my fans and supporters, media men and women. I love you all. You guys rock. You guys are great. Thank you for all the support. Congratulations to Yaya Toure for being the 2014 AFRICAN FOOTBALLER OF DE YEAR.#bravo yaya."
With his words, he seem to have no grudges with the winner that emerged as he was being floored.
