Born to a Nigerian father and Ghanaian mother, Yvonne Okoro calls herself an African. She comes from a very large family and she is the first child of her mother and the fifth of all siblings.
She made her screen debut in Sticking to the Promise, a 2002 movie produced by the Nigerian producer Theo Akatugba, just after her Senior High Education. The actress has since featured in numerous Ghanaian and Nigerian movies. She also featured in a movie in France. Currently she is one of the highest paid actresses with great commercial value.
