The 2007 winner of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN), Munachi Abii, fondly called Muna, has disclosed that she grew up in an environment where her beautiful girls were not encouraged.

The ex-beauty queen turned rapper explained that the reason behind this was the perception that men don't like to get married to beautiful ladies because they are believed not to be good cooks and that their beauty get into their heads, which they believe make them misbehave.

Muna said even though she has always been optimistic of things, she never expected to emerge winner of the 2007 MBGN.

She explained that her friends forced her into getting into the competition. According to Muna, her friends, who also contested, had threatened her to refund the N10,000 which they had already paid on her behalf and was left with no other choice than to get into the beauty contest.
