CHINESE PIRATES ROUNDED UP IN LAGOS
An illegal CD plant worth over $5 million was raided by Nigeria copyright commission in Ikeja - Lagos.
The plant otherwise called Akina has for several years operated illegally in Nigeria with equipment nestal mode machine 121010 owned and operated by a group of Chinese immigrants at Oregun estate area of Ikeja Lagos.
Right inside the factory, hundreds of tapes and CD's belonging to local and foreign artists were seen in the process of mass re-production even as there were thousands of finished works already packaged for distribution.
Among works already spotted included those of Dianna Rose, Tony Tetuila, Abass Obesere, Kofi Olomide, Oji Nwayo, Ogene Nwigbo, Ifeoma Izeora, Ann Inyang and Sunny Jolayemi whose first major group hit; Gbemisoke was sighted in large quantity inside the factory. Also discovered were the latest works by Seun Makanjuola titled TETE DIDE (Arise Quickly) and Ebube Agu Neche by Gozie Okeke
