Ayefele, K1 fight for relevance in America - Fans organised boat show for K1 - Ayefele more popular

TWO of Nigeria's most celebrated musicians, K1 de Ultimate and Yinka Ayefele, are slugging it out with one another in far away United States of America.

Though on different labels, Ayefele's first show in Atlanta two weeks ago was shut down by Police because of the crowd.

“The people were too many, they were fighting to buy ticket whereas there was no more chance in the hall.

“It was the people in the neighbourhood that called the police because they were scared of the influx of people coming to watch the show,” said Ayefele in a chat with Rhythms and Vibes.

While Ayefele is busy entertaining his fans, king of Fuji music, K1 de Ultimate also breezed into the God's own country via Air France on Monday 7 July.
K1 had a wonderful show as his promoters in the US, S&D promotions (Samson and Deolu) organised a boat show for him.

The 400 capacity boat sailed from Pier 2, Sheep head bay, Brooklyn, New York on Friday, 11 with a lot of his fans on board.

The $150 show also had in attendance Nigeria's showbiz personalities, Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye both of Primetime Entertainment in attendance.

K1 will also perform tonight at Staten Island, New York to complete his shows in the city of New York. Speaking on the show, Wale Omotayo, an ardent fan and a former promoter of K1 said the show was a huge success such that the ticket for tonight's show at Staten Island had been sold out.

“K1 is an artiste that will always thrill you. A lot of people flew in from different destinations to watch him perform in the boat, it was great. The man is going from strength to strength,” he said. Ayefele is on a two-month tour while K1 is not likely to return soon.
