Genevieve Defend's Nigeria's Entertainment Industry
The Annual Business Conference 2014 was today held at the Honeywell Auditorium of the Lagos Business School. This year's conference covers the sectors that are essential to driving growth in Africa.
Key note speakers shed light on key issues and opportunities in Africa's Manufacturing, Energy, Agri-Business, Fashion, ICT, Media & Entertainment and Solid Mineral sectors with the theme, 'Driving private sector growth through enhanced intra-Africa trade.'
Keynote speaker, Rod Glovet Blondin, renowned Economist and Advisor to Africa Exchange Holdings, says African businesses need to put in both economic and social prosperity - Africapitalism. According to him, we need to put in a sustainability index, to be a part of social capitalism and do our business with integrity; all these pay off in the end.
Blodin stressed that as private sector proponents, there is need to actively voice our concerns, put forward solutions and suggestions, work with the public sector (not for them) and do not fight corruption with corruption.
Guests at the event include Dr. Ousmane Dore, the country Director of African Development Bank, Professor Nebo, Nigeria's minister of power, represented by permanent secretary Dr. Godknows Ighali, Rod Glovet Blondin - renowned economist and advisor to Africa Exchange Holdings, Actress Genevieve Nnaji and many other guests.
