South African music group, Mafikizolo emerged the biggest winners at the pre-South Africa Music Awards (SAMA), bagging no fewer than three awards at a ceremony hosted by TV starlet Pearl Modiadie.

The Afro-pop group's single, Khona, won in the 'Best Selling Ring-Back Tone', 'Best Selling Full-Track Download' and 'Best Selling Mobile Music Download of the Year' categories at the Industry Awards, which was held hours before the main event.

SAMA is the biggest annual trophy hunt on the showbiz calendar in South Africa. This year's edition was held on the 28th of April 2014.

Every year, before the main event, SAMA rewards some technical and sales excellence as well as artistic prowess in certain music categories. Pearl Modiadie hosted this year's ceremony, which featured live performances from several nominees.
