Chiwetel Ejiofor, Steve McQueen Dump Movie On Fela
The duo of Nigerian Chiwetel Ejiofor and British Steve McQueen have left a planned movie on the life of Nigerian music legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project was dumped by the actors due to lack of funds.
McQueen was quoted by The Hollywood Reporter to have said, "they didn't have the money. It is one of those things that happens in this business."
Ejiofor would have played Fela in the said movie, which was reportedly described as "dead" by McQueen, following the latest development.
It is uncertain if the project would still be revisited in the nearest future when the money to run the biopic is eventually sourced for.
