Sometimes, to get what you desire, especially something as prestigious as an award, it takes a little more doing than just possessing all the requirements.

So, you can imagine what it would feel like to have a probable less qualified candidate beating in a public show those you consider stars of the game. The unfortunate truth is that talent, even when backed by experience, does not always win.

Anyway, we wouldn't want to be the judge here; the floor is thrown open to our impartial arbitrators, the readers.

Now, while some fans consider Tonto Dike a good actress, most people think her winning the Nigeria's best actress award was a joke taken too far. Tonto was recently crowned 'Nigeria's Best Actress' at the Exquisite Lady of the Year (ELOY) Awards. Majority of guests who witnessed the show were shocked to their bone marrows.

Their frustration?

Well, this was an event that had those you would consider stars of the game in attendance, like Ini Edo, Rita Dominic, Kate Henshaw, Jackie Appiah, and more. And they too were on the same category as Tonto!

Besides, we gathered many of the off podium judges were rooting for Rita Dominic who has won most tributes for the year. And the only work that earned Tonto a nomination on the award was said to be her role in the Uche Jombo-produced flick, 'My Life, My Damage'
