Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole has renamed the Ugbegun Grammar School in Edo state to Festus Iyayi Memorial Grammar School in memory of the late ASUU president. He said this at Iyayi's burial ceremony which held yesterday,December 7th 2013 in his residence at his home town of Eguare-Ugbegun, Esan Central Local Council area of Edo State.

He also said a water scheme will be constructed at Ugbegun and named after the late Festus Iyayi to remind the people of who he was and what he fought for
