JUDGES,WATCH OUT! (NFC Morning Devotion)

Source: Oyindun/Nollywoodgists.com

The way you judge people is the way you would be judged. In 2 Samuel 12, King David passed judgement on the offender in the hypothetical story brought before him by Prophet Nathan and the judgement was effected on him.

Extra care must be taken whenever you find yourself occupying the seat of a judge.Let us learn a few lessons from today's reading.

Firstly, always put yourself in the shoes of those you judge because the way you judge will determine how you will be judged.Secondly, let mercy be central in all your judgments.

See judgement time as an opportunity to sow mercy like God.Matthew 5:7.Many believers dont receive mercy because they withheld mercy when it was their turn to be merciful.

Another lesson here is that you should refuse to be a hypocrite.A hypocrite is a person who attends to people's errors without minding his own. A hypocrite helps people to make heaven while he may never get there.Critics usually have bigger errors than the ones they set out to correct.

When you sit as a judge, look out for your big flaws. You might not easily see them but others will. For every fault you see in your spouse, look out for five in yourself. Brethren, the right to correct erring individuals is earned. For you to excel and be far above average ,you must cultivate the habit of criticising yourself, not others. READ:Matthew 7:1-5.
