The FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed; Senetor Ita Enang and founder of the foundation for the elderly, Hajia Habiba Abubakar were recently all honoured by National Waves newspaper and magazine. The trio were bestowed with the awards for their exemplary achievements in their individual endeavours.

On the part of Abubakar, she bagged a gold award for the best NGO in 2013 due to her contributions to the elderly, the needy as well as some struggling families.

She's been championing the cause of the elderly, soliciting for government support towards their needs.

Abubakar's foundation is the first of its kind in the whole West Africa, which is self sponsored.
