Nigeria striker Emmanuel Emenike would have been the highest African best paid player had he accepted the offer made by China. He is presently on loan to English Premier League side West Ham from Turkish club Fenerbache.

“The deal in China would have fetched him up to $8 million a year, all tax-free,” said a source close to the player.But he preferred to move on loan to the EPL instead.”

Another source disclosed that he may still head to China in four months time (June). But that will be dependent on how things work out in England.
