A director in the government of Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi, Mrs Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, has been quizzed by men of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Lagos for her alleged involvement in a N1.3 billion scam.

According to information available to Nollywoodgists.com, Ogunesan, who is the Oyo State Local Government Director of Inspectorate, was a guest at SFU to answer questions bothering inflated contracts to the tune of N1.3billion in the purchase of refuse disposal trucks.

Also at SFU with Ogunesan was governor Ajimobi's running mate on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples' Party (ANPP) in the 2007 gubernatorial poll, Peter Odetomi.

The interrogation was as a result of petitions to the anti-fraud unit in the purchase of the disposal trucks which was discovered to have been purchased by the defunct administration of Adebayo Alao-Akala but only refurbished by the Ajimobi administration and presented as new trucks.

Both Odetomi and Ogunesan, according to reliable sources were allowed to go home due to pressure from above.

They however made statements, which according to sources would lead the investigators from the SFU to unravel how such amount was expended to purchase refuse disposal trucks.

Reliable sources confided that Ogunesan wields so much power in the ministry such that she ignores senior directors and the director-general to push her agenda directly before Governor Abiodun Ajimobi. Her overbearing attitude, many alleged, may not be unconnected with suspected romance between her and Ajimobi.

Sources alleged that Ogunesan and the governor became closer than ever after both of them contested and lost under ANPP. The sources further hinted that Ogunesan who later found her way back to the top echelon of the Ministry of Local Government to the chagrin of all, was a good mole for Governor Ajimobi during his gubernatorial election against the state's former governor, Chief Alao Akala.

Her current appointment, observers in the ministry believe, is a compensation for her activities during the election.

Ogunesan, who has reported again to the investigative department of the SFU, is still under interrogation.

When contacted via telephone calls and several SMS, Ogunesan merely exchanged pleasantries and declined to comment on the matter. Ajimobi's Special Adviser on Media, Festus Adedayo threatened legal action if the story is published saying ”we have a tradition of suing people who write against us.”
