President Jonathan understands Nigerian youths more than any president – Liz Anjorin

By Temidayo Badmus

In this brief online interview with Temidayo Badmus, popular Yoruba actress Liz Anjorin, who is in the United States of America at the moment, spoke glowingly of the contributions of the present administration towards developing the entertainment sector. Excerpts:

How is the United States?

I am enjoying life here in the US. I have been here since April and being hosted by a lot of Nigerian communities here in the United States. It's really a whole different experience for me. Nigerians here in the US have shown tremendous love and they have made my stay here a beautiful experience.

What have you been doing since you arrived the US

I have been involved in a whole lot of activities here. I feel at home here in America. I have also been getting awards here. So many people have also hosted me. I have been engaged in anchoring events for people; it's been a massive experience for me.

Some people say that the entertainment industry has received more attention from the Goodluck Jonathan government than any other administration. Do you agree with this?

Yes. I think the president has been a sort of inspiration to the industry. He is one president who has encouraged all areas of entertainment. I believe he understands and appreciate our role in nation building. This president is the closest to the youths among all past presidents. He listens and acts reasonably.

How will you rate the entertainment industry within the last two or three years that he has been president?

Sincerely, if not for some security distractions here and there, I believe the president has plans for all sectors, most especially the entertainment industry. He has demonstrated that on different occasions. I believe the president understands that Nigerian youths have embraced showbiz as an alternative to unemployment in Nigeria and he is just trying his best to encourage us. Can you remember D'banj interviewed the president? That is what I am saying about the president. I don't think anyone has gone that far before him.

When are you likely to return to Nigeria?

I don't know for now. I am shooting some parts of my new movie 'Kofo the First Lady' here. It will take me sometime, but hopefully next month.
