Past seems to be hunting this River born actress and model, Ibinabo Fiberesima who has been wrestling with the powers that be for the presidential post of the Actor Guid of Nigeria, AGN.

For Ibinabo Fiberesima, her dream of becoming the first national president of the perennially troubled AGN might take a long time owing to these forces behind her woes.

Several seen and unseen forces are currently working against the ambition of the pretty actress and former beauty queen from Rivers State.

At the recently botched election of the guild, which held in Benin, Edo State, the other candidates allegedly conspired with the electoral officials to unjustly cancel the exercise, when it was glaring that the former Rivers State chapter Chairman of the guild, was coasting home to a landslide victory.

For most of these anti Ibinabo campaigners, they have sworn that over their dead bodies would she preside over the guild as their leader the reason being that she was once convict for murder and over their dead bodies would an ex-convict preside over them.

Though, the mother of one, IB as she's fondly called by close friends is disturbed by this issue, her friends, however, have said she shouldn't be deterred b such nonsense.

"Every one of us is a convict to God so why deprive her the right to vote. The constitution does not state it that an ex convict shouldn't vie for the national president of the association, so, why bringing that up." One of her friends defended her.

Some other factions are saying that, as a woman, it would be wrong for Ibinabo to lead a guild as volatile as AGN.

However, some pro-Ibinabo campaigners, who equally spoke with us on the condition of anonymity, said their candidate remains the best person to deliver the guild from the abyss Segun Arinze left it before his disgraceful exit.

They also chided those playing up the issue of gender as their reason for not wanting IB, saying they had no genuine case against her candidacy, but are only afraid of her intimidating track record as an achiever cum goal-getter.

On the issue of the convict tag on her person, they reminded the hate campaigners that a court of competent jurisdiction had already cleared her, thus making her eligible to contest for any official post in the country
