There are high anxieties in the Yoruba movie industry as the d-day for the first Yoruba Movie Academy Awards draws nearer.

The event, which is billed to hold at June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State, is gradually gathering momentum as the June 3 awards day draws closer.

Already, the Ogun State government has thrown its full weight behind the event. The state government is also trying hard to make the event a success.

Veterans in Yoruba film industry have also endorsed the awards ceremony.

Funke Akindele, Femi Adebayo, Mosun Filani, Muyiwa Ademola, Odunlade Adekola and many others were nominated in different categories of the awards.

Nominees would be given a 5-star treatment. Stakeholders would also have an interactive section with the state government on Monday, June 4.
