How Finances Delay Pregnancy

Recent research has shown that a generation of young women are delaying having children because they cannot afford a family. The research backed by Insurance Company Friends, an NGO said, more than four in 10 working women in their 20s intend to put off having children because of financial worries. Those now planning to wait until later for motherhood heavily outnumber women who have already had children in their 30s and 40s. The findings suggest that the baby boom among older mothers will continue as younger women struggle to cope with career demands, mortgages and finding a loyal and committed male partner.
