Female singing sensation,Geraldine Okoro,popularly known as Essence,was dispossessed of her newly acquired vehicle by armed robbers on Sunday,September 4,2011.

The sweet voiced music star was attacked in front of her house in Egbeda,Lagos by three gunmen.They also took away her personal effects with her in the car.

She related the whole scenario in a short chat with us.

She said; I left Opebi,Ikeja,Lagos for Egbeda,where I stay with my mum.I actually bought some things to give to my mum like TV set and some money.

The TV could not get into my boot so I had to put it at the back seat,maybe that was what attracted them.I didn't even know they were trailing me.As I parked in front of my gate at Egbeda,the next thing I saw were three men pointing guns at me.

They told me to come down and move back.They took me to a quite place and asked me for money.They said,” Look at you,you are buying things”.They actually wanted to kidnap me.They asked me whether the people I know can pay the ransom.They took the money I wanted to give my mother,took my ATM card,they asked for my pin which I gave them at gun point.

They took my phones.I even begged them to give me one of the SIM cards and they gave me the Blackberry SIM card.

Since they took my ATM,they have been withdrawing my money.Over N200,000 has been withdrawn from my Oceanic Bank account.And that's the issue I want to take up with the bank,because whenever I wanted to withdraw money that is not even up to N200,00,they will give me excuses.
